Susan M. Duncan, Executive Director

Susan became Executive Director in 2004. She began volunteering with our organization over 20 years ago, remaining active until 1998—when her career in commercial real estate finance took her to Wilmington, NC. Until returning to Raleigh Susan also managed the career of spiritual singer/songwriter Vaughan Penn (who, we're happy to say, has shared her musical talents with Loaves and Fishes students). Susan holds a B.S. in Business Administration from East Carolina University, as well as a Certificate in Nonprofit Management from Duke University.
Cheri Coleman, Academic Director

Cheri earned a Master's degree from the School of Social Work at UNC Chapel Hill. Before becoming our program director, she served on the board of directors as VP of Multicultural Development.
Dana Williams, Enrichment Director

Dana was one of the first Loaves and Fishes graduates. She returned in 1998 as a Public Allies intern and has since completed the Public Allies National Leadership Program. She has been on staff for over 12 years now.
Tony Barney, Elementary Instructor

A graduate of St. Augustine's College, Tony has over ten years of experience in educating and mentoring children of all ages and demographics. At Loaves and Fishes he works with students in the third–fifth grades. Tony joined our staff in August 2010.
Laska Blodgett, Middle School Instructor

Laska received her BA from the College of Wooster in Ohio, where she majored in sociology with a minor in Africana studies. Before joining our staff in August of 2009, she worked with at-risk youth in Tulsa, Chicago and Ohio.
Beulah Trimm, Administrative Assistant

When Beulah joined the staff in 2009, she and her husband and children had just relocated from Omaha, NE to be closer to family. With over 19 years of administrative assistance experience, she is critical to our operations.

Betty Anne Ford and Nancy Newell founded Loaves and Fishes in 1982.

Betty Anne Ford
Betty Anne served as Loaves and Fishes Executive Director for 20 years, before which she was Director of Christian Education at Selwyn Avenue Presbyterian Church in Charlotte, NC. She has a Certificate in Nonprofit Management from Duke University, an M.C.E. from Presbyterian School of Christian Education in Richmond, VA, and a B.A. from St. Andrews Presbyterian College in Laurinburg, NC.
Nancy Newell
Nancy holds a Master's in Special Education (Behavior Disorders) from NC State University, a Master's in Christian Education from Presbyterian School of Christian Education, and a B.S. from the College of the Ozarks.
